Urban Outfitters recently unveiled their Spring 2007 collection and this cute little Gnome Light, available in teal, chartreuse and white, is among my favorite accoutrements.
The Smorgas-Board Melamine Plate Collection from Pop Ink has all the wood but none of the splinters! Wouldn't these look darling in a wood-paneled room with a bronze sunburst clock?
As I mentioned in one of yesterday's posts, I'm doing my graduate thesis project on Miami Beach's International Inn and converting it into a Boys & Girls Club. A few months back, I had the pleasure of giving myself an unguided tour around the facility and took the above photos. Needless to say, the place has seen few renovations and many of the original features such as the terrazzo floor, mosaic tile, fabulous ice machine and concrete masonry details have remained intact-- it was a preservation junkie's dream come true!
I should also add the hotel had what I like to refer to as that wonderful vintage seaside motel scent-- a combination of saltwater, humidity and time.
I'm a designer, business woman and advocate of good taste and good grammar with a penchant for Mid-Century design. This blog is a collection of things I find to be beautiful, innovative, kitschy or, if I'm lucky, all three. Enjoy!
