My grade school art teacher showed us this Lamorisse classic every. single. year. It wasn't the most thrilling movie ever but I always loved its wonderful Euro 50's quality and seeing the infamous red balloon manifest itself into a luminaire is quite interesting.
I've decided to add to my Mid-Century postcard collection (I have a Mid-Century postcard collection, btw) more cards from 1950's Cuba-- an era frozen in my grandma's old family photos (I'm Cuban, btw).
The latest addition to my collection, the Cabana Sun Club at the Hotel Nacional, is quite the gem. The hotel was built in 1930 and is still around but definitely not the same.
These adorable tablewares by Jorine Oosterhoff caught my eye with their adorable little feet! I am, by no means, a fan of the feets but this set reminded me of a more sophisticated "Be Our Guest" number from Disney's Beauty & the Beast. I wonder if they dance?
